Every piece starts centred and round on the wheel. Most of these vessels have been disrupted in some way, either by stretching out the clay, or creating ridges whilst the wheel is still spinning. The rim stays circular, but the body doesn't. The sandy glaze breaks differently over every high point, so the variation follows the disruption itself.
